KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — President John Dunn is still in charge at Western Michigan University, and will be for the next four months, but he is taking a farewell tour of the region this week.
He had breakfast in Battle Creek, lunch in Lansing and dinner in Grand Rapids on Monday. Ann Arbor and Detroit are on the schedule for Tuesday. Along the way, he is visiting WMU outposts, like the aviation school, Cooley Law School and other satellite campuses.
Dunn is still handling the day-to-day management and, even after he steps down from the job, he will remain on the payroll for another year, carrying out special assignments from trustees and helping the new President with the transition.
The week-long tour will cover 1,500 miles, making 17 stops in 14 cities. It will wrap up Friday with breakfast at the Homer Stryker Medical School in Kalamazoo, lunch at WMU’s campus in Benton Harbor and dinner in Chicago.
