KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A 49-year-old man with a history of violent crime is jailed after Kalamazoo Public Safety says he and a 40-year-old female acquaintance beat a 38-year-old woman in a parking lot Wednesday.
The assault was reportedly over an unpaid debt. It happened in a parking lot in the 100 block of East Cork Street at around 6 p.m.
The victim had to be hospitalized after the incident, suffering facial fractures. Investigators say she was repeatedly punched in the face by the male suspect.
The man was arrested at a home in the 100 block of Allen Street after the activation of the Kalamazoo Metro Tactical Team. The male and female suspects live together at the residence, according to a press release from the police agency.
The woman remains at large. Police are seeking an assault warrant.
