PORTAGE (WKZO-AM/FM) — The suspect in a hit-and-run crash in Portage remains at large, but the investigation continues.
Police first became aware of a problem in the 2600 Stanley Avenue on the evening of Feb. 3 when the home alarm was activated.
There was no one home at the time. The responding officers found the front of the home caved in. They also found tire tracks suggesting that a driver lost control on Woodlawn Drive, and did not stick around.
They have now had a chance to test the paint chips and debris left behind and have determined the mystery vehicle was a gray or dark colored Ford F-150 manufactured between 2004 to 2008. It should have significant rear-end damage.
Anyone who recognizes the vehicle should give Portage Public Safety a call. The number is (269) 329-4567.
