KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) –A new date has been set for the next hearing for Jason Dalton, the man accused of wounding Kopf and Tiana Carruthers and killing six others.
The lawyers and the judge will gather on March 9 to hear arguments from the defense on why they think some statements Dalton made to police following his arrest should be excluded from the trial.
No date for the trial has been set.
Dalton is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail without bond, as he has been since his arrest nearly a year ago. Monday the 20th is the first anniversary of the killing spree.
A memorial event is being planned for that evening at the WIngs Event Center to remember the victims and the survivors. It will begin at 6:30.
