GALESBURG (WKZO-AM) — There has been a killing in Galesburg.
A young man was beaten while drinking with friends during a gathering at the Countryview Apartments in the 100 block of Gale Avenue on Friday. Police were dispatched to the location on a report of a fight and found 22-year-old Ryan Cole unresponsive on a balcony.
They were able to resuscitate him, but he died the next day at Borgess Medical Center from traumatic head and brain injuries.
A fight broke out between Cole and a friend who lived at the apartment. Police are looking for two witnesses, a woman with a child and another man who they think can provide critical information.
Investigators are looking into the possibility that there may have been several people involved in the fight.
