PAW PAW (WKZO-AM) — Twenty-eight new Michigan State Police Troopers will report for work at posts across the state this week after graduating from the 132nd Trooper Recruit School on Friday.
Troopers Dustin Roesler and Jacob Bailey have been assigned to the Paw Paw Post.
37 recruits began the six-month long training program, but only 28 made it to the end to become graduates of the 132nd Trooper Recruit School.
Recruits received training in firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, patrol techniqus, report writing, ethics, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing and precision driving.
The next trooper school begins in June and Governor Snyder has proposed putting funding for 100 additional troopers in the 2018 state budget.
