LANSING (WKZO-AM)– The latest graduates of the Michigan State Troopers training school were given the Oath of Office Friday and will be reporting for duty at posts all over the state this coming week.
37 recruits began the six-month long training program, but only 28 made it to the end to become graduates of the 132nd Trooper Recruit School.
Recruits received training in firearms, water safety, defensive tactics, patrol techniques, report writing, ethics, first aid, criminal law, crime scene processing and precision driving.
The next trooper school begins in June and Governor Snyder has proposed putting funding for 100 additional troopers in the 2018 state budget.
