BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for four men who beat a 53-year-old into unconsciousness after stealing several guns and cash from a safe at his home in Bloomingdale Township.
It happened at around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 15000 block of 41st Street.
Investigators say the homeowner was pistol-whipped by one of the men after he answered a knock at his front door. He was then demanded to open his safe at gunpoint.
After he regained consciousness, he called 911 from a neighbor’s house. His phone was broken.
He was taken to a hospital after an interview with authorities. His current condition is not known.
All four suspects have slim builds and are between 18 and 23 years old. Two men are 5-foot-6, another is 5-foot-8, and the fourth is 6-foot-2.
