KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man is in custody facing assault charges after he got angry that a neighbor parked in his parking spot in the 700 block of W. Kalamazoo Avenue.
Officers say when the victim did not immediately remove the vehicle the suspect went into his place, grabbed an assault rifle, came out and pointed it in the faces of the offending driver and another neighbor while making threatening statements.
The victim moved his car and then called 9-1-1 at about 1:30 pm Friday.
Arriving officers detected the distinct odor of marijuana coming from both the suspect’s car and his apartment, and arrested the 21-year-old for both felonious assault and possession, seizing both the gun and the drugs.
