KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM)– One of the two suspects charged in the shooting death of WMU student Jacob Jones last month, has been bound over to stand trial after his alleged co-defendant took the stand to testify against him.
20-year-old Jordan Waire of Muskegon is charged with felony murder, armed robbery, and four other felonies.
Former WMU Basketball player Joeviair Kennedy testified during the hearing that during what was just supposed to be a drug rip-off at the SoHo Apartments, he claims Waire pistol-whipped the victim, the gun discharged and the bullet hit Jones in the head.
The 20-year-old Kennedy was kicked off the team soon after his arrest, and faces his own preliminary hearing later this month.
Both played on the same Muskegon High Basketball team a few years ago.
