LANSING (WKZO-AM) — Some state lawmakers are wasting no time reintroducing legislation that failed to get through both houses last session.
They are either golden oldies or moldy oldies depending on your point of view.
Senator Rick Jones has reintroduced a charitable gaming bill that would allow poker for non-profits. Republican lawmakers are reintroducing bills to kill the prevailing wage, reform the corrections system, and reforming no-fault auto insurance.
Other returning proposals would reduce repeat offenders by giving inmates more counseling and training. Some lawmakers in the house are already resurrecting bills to reform no-fault auto insurance. Portage Senator Margaret O’Brien wants to take bicycle safety legislation further than they were able to go last year.
Also reintroduced is the part-time legislature, that would only give lawmakers 90-days each year to enact bills.
