WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO-AM) — Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education, West Michigan’s Betsy DeVos is expected to get a grilling today on Capitol Hill.
WMU Professor of Educational Leadership Dr. Joseph Kretovics says DeVos doesn’t even like public education, now she may be running it.
90% of the nation’s children attend public schools. Dr. Kretovics says Mrs. DeVos has primarily been an advocate for dismantling Public Schools and replacing them with Charter schools and vouchers, allowing students to go to private schools on the public dime.
But she has also been active in the Republican Party and the DeVos family has been very generous to Republican candidates.
