KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Congressman Fred Upton says he’s not sure yet what the Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act will look like.
This despite president-elect Donald Trump saying there will be “insurance for everybody” once the law gets repealed.
“Our committees haven’t even met yet,” Upton said. “We’ve got a lot of new members in the Congress and we just did our committee assignments, but no hearings, nothing moving.”
Upton, R-St. Joseph, said his constituents are concerned about how they’ll be affected by the repeal.
“Our office has fielded a ton of questions and calls,” Upton said. “We’re going to try to work together and figure this out.”
Upton does promise Obamacare won’t be formally repealed without a plan for replacement.
