WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO-AM) — First the Senate took that first vote laying out a game plan for repealing Obamacare…then the U.S. House followed yesterday, voting along party lines to start what could be a month’s long process.
Congressman Fred Upton is joining House Speaker Paul Ryan in vowing that families and individuals who are currently getting coverage, won’t be left hanging…
But critics say no plan to do that has been put forward and they are skeptical. Linda Teeter with Michigan Citizen Action says all supporters of the system can do is contact legislators and if they can, tell them their personal success story using the program.
She says nobody knows what will happen, but they know who it will happen to, the 6% of West Michiganders who are now insured thanks to the ACA.
She says it’s just not those signed up for Obamacare. It’s any patient with coverage who got it despite pre-existing conditions or young adult still on their parent’s policy who may have their healthcare at risk.
