CASSOPOLIS (WKZO-AM) — Cass County Prosecutors have charged the man they say is responsible for a work-place murder early Wednesday morning.
They say 23-year-old William Henderson should be tried for open murder in the stabbing death of 24-year-old Jan Carlos Velasquez Mendez.
Prosecutor Victor Fitz says the two men were members of rival gangs and Henderson thought he was being disrespected by Mendez.
Fitz says Henderson has confessed to the killing. Both men are from Elkhart and both were on break from their job operating a plastic molding machine at Ameri-Kart in Mason Township when the killing occurred.
