KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Though the holidays have passed, it’s about to be the most wonderful time of the year for local brewers.
Kalamazoo Beer Week gets underway this weekend. It’s an event that draws hundreds of beer lovers from just about everywhere.
Brian Steele with Boatyard Brewing says there will be something for everyone.
“Over 250 events in Kalamazoo,” Steele said. “Just about every brewery is doing multiple events, every restaurant is doing multiple events and every party store is doing multiple events.”
It’s a mix of special beers and special events. Steele says he’s hosting a cornhole tournament Wednesday night.
“I mean, cornhole and beer — it’s like curling and beer,” Steele said.
The celebration officially starts Saturday, but some breweries are hosting kickoff events Friday.
