KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Shortly after the McDonalds on Riverview Drive in Kalamazoo closed for the holiday at midnight an armed robber appeared in the store and confronted the last employee. Brandishing a handgun, the robber demanded money and ordered the employee into the walk-in freezer.
The employee was not injured and managed to escape the freezer after the robber left and called 9-1-1.
Responding officers set up a perimeter and deployed a K-9, but could not locate the suspect.
They are looking for a black male who is about 5’10” weighing 220 lbs. with a stocky build. He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
