KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo Chapter of the Red Cross held their annual Holiday Blood Drive Saturday at the Radisson downtown.
This year it was held in memory of former Public Safety Sgt. Lisa Zuk who died just over a year ago, after a two year battle with breast cancer.
Spokesperson Todd Kulman says “Blood and platelet donors can bring joy to patients and their families by giving blood or platelets to help ensure patients receive the lifesaving treatments they need.”
The Red Cross was reportedly able to collect a record number of pints from the volunteers who appeared for the annual event.
They handed out long-sleeved T-shirts to donors.
It was the 32nd year the Holiday Blood Drive was held in Kalamazoo.
