COMSTOCK (WKZO-AM) — The man who was taken into custody following the death of a 20-year-old at the Comstock Village Apartments on Sunday has been released from custody.
It followed a decision by the prosecutor to send the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office file on the case back to detectives for more investigation. The suspect had to be let go because he was held for the maximum 96 hours but never charged.
Undersheriff Pali Matyas suggests the case is fairly involved and complicated, and much more than the simple stabbing that has been reported by some outlets.
They can only hold a person in custody for so long without filing charges.
Almost no information has been released about the incident, which resulted in the death of Michael Rogers.
Those with additional information are urged to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 383-8748 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
