BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) – For the second time in a week, someone broke into Columbia Auto and Tires on Capital Avenue Southwest just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday.
Unfortunately for the second set of suspected burglars, they were spotted by a witness alledgedly tossing tires from the business into an SUV. The witness called police, but the burglars left before officers arrived, so the witness followed them from a discrete distance, keeping in touch with dispatch.
Officers were able to intercept the SUV at Greenwood Avenue and Kendall Street, arresting three men and a woman and recovering eight tires.
The four were booked into the Calhoun County jail on burglary charges. Some of them also had outstanding warrants.
