VOLINIA TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Two people are hospitalized after a collision in Volinia Township.
Sheriff’s deputies in Cass County say 18-year-old Janekk Spears failed to yield for a stop sign at Marcellus Highway as the Lawton resident was driving on Decatur Road after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Spears struck a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Cindy Vanasse of Marcellus, who was traveling eastbound on the highway.
One vehicle was overturned. Both were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Dowagiac.
Seatbelts were in use and alcohol appears to not be a factor in the wreck, according to a press release.
