That’s what Michigan State Police are calling their new campaign to reduce distracted driving.
It’s already been introduced in other states. The idea is to train people on safe practices to avoid becoming distracted while driving.
Michigan State Police say they are feeling some urgency about the issue because the number of drivers that died from distracted driving doubled last year. Distracted driving can include anything from having loose objects and pets moving around inside the vehicle, to tuning a radio to eating or shaving while driving.
They think the proliferation of cell phones may be the prime reason for the recent increase in crashes.
