KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety says a 17-year-old is jailed for shooting an 18-year-old in the arm during a drug deal.
The victim claims he was fired upon while trying to purchase marijuana from the suspect in the 3600 block of West Michigan Avenue late Monday. Officers failed to find the suspect or the victim when they arrived at the scene after 10 p.m.
Witnesses say the dealer ran from the area.
Officers provided medical care to the victim, who suffered a non-life threatning arm wound, at a nearby apartment. The suspect was found several hours later at his home, where he was arrested and a gun was found.
