KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo investigators have released a video of the hit and run crash that injured two young children in the Edison Neighborhood Tuesday evening. One of the two kids has already been discharged from Bronson Methodist Hospital and the other has improved from critical to stable condition.
They have also changed the description of the minivan, now saying that they believe it was a Dodge made between 2001 and 2007 and possibly dark brown or burgundy. It may have side mirror damage.
The video shows the children and their dad crossing Egleston Avenue at Race Street and the van is stopped at the intersection, then proceeds directly into the family, which had the right of way. The two children who are just ahead of their dad, disappear into the headlights of the vehicle in the shot taken by a camera on top of a nearby building.
As the van leaves the intersection, you can see that the children have been thrown some distance from the point of impact and their dad, David Badham moving to their aid.
Their dog, a pitbull named Piper, remains missing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kalamazoo Public Safety at (269) 337-8994.
