BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Battle Creek Police have two suspects in custody following a drive-by shooting Saturday evening at 6:30 in the area of Fountain Street and Meachem Ave.
Officers were close enough to the scene to hear the gunshots, and then give chase to a suspect vehicle fleeing from the area.
TheY also saw the other car leaving the scene. The occupants of that second car flagged down responding officers, and told them that they were fired upon multiple times by a male suspect in the other car, but that none of them were hit.
Officers chasing the other vehicle were able to get the driver to stop. He was arrested and a gun recovered from the car.
An investigation produced the name of a second suspect who has also been taken into custody.
Both are being held in the Calhoun County jail pending arraignment.
