KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — They didn’t see it, but a Kalamazoo Public Safety patrol was close enough to hear a collision between two vehicles and a light pole in downtown Kalamazoo early this morning.
They found the wreckage of two cars and a utility pole and power lines lying across South Westnedge Avenue at Michigan Avenue at about 4:24 am.
The at-fault driver fled the scene on foot, but they have a good idea who was driving and are trying to locate that person. Westnedge was closed until Consumers Energy crews could remove the powerline.
The other driver involved was not injured. The agency says anyone who may have witnessed the crash should give them a call.
