UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — The Clinton Campaign has announced it will be joining the recount in Wisconsin, and participating in Pennsylvania and Michigan too if the Green Party files in those states as expected this coming week.
Clinton’s campaign lawyer said Saturday now that a recount has been initiated, they will participate to be sure the process proceeds fairly.
The Green Party says it has raised over 4 million and most of it will be spent on recount fees. They say they are just trying to verify the integrity of the U.S. Voting system amid reports of Russian hacking.
President-elect Donald Trump is calling the recall effort a “scam” designed to raise money for the Green Party. Trump tweeted calling the CLinton Campaign’s decision to participate sour grapes from “badly defeated & demoralized Dems.”
Michigan Republican party chair Ronna Romney McDaniel has issued a statement saying that the they have been in touch with the Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign, “and we are prepared to recruit volunteers, train them, and monitor all recount efforts to ensure that it is done in a fair and legal way’.
She says “We are confident that the results will uphold what Michigan voters decided on Election Day: Donald Trump won Michigan and is the President-elect of the United States.”

MADISON, WISCONSIN (WKZO-AM) — The Wisconsin Elections Commission has approved Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein’s request for a recount of the votes made in this year’s presidential election. They expect the recount to begin later this coming week.
They are also reportedly preparing for a handcount in Michigan but not before the ballots are officially canvassed on Monday.
The Stein campaign has cited concerns about the legitimacy of Donald Trump’s win because of Russian hacking which may have gone undetected, even though they have no proof that any such thing happened.
Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Mike Haas says they aren’t really in a position to deny the request for the hand count of paper ballots. Their law places a very low threshold on justifying a recount, if the candidate has the cash to pay the fees.
Stein’s camp says they have raised more than four-million-dollars on-line in just a few days. Their goal is $4.5-million.
They estimate the Wisconsin recount will cost one-point-one-million-dollars.
They also are expected to file for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania this coming week. The filing deadline is Monday in Pennsylvania and Wednesday for Michigan.
