BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Bronson Battle Creek will join Bronson and Borgess Hospitals in Kalamazoo as teaching hospitals.
It has just been announced that plans are underway to create a residency program at the Battle Creek medical facility, with the assistance of the WMU Homer Stryker School of Medicine and Grace Health.
Six residents will be added each year for a total of three years to create 18-positions. They hope it will expand and improve health care, and studies have shown that doctors are more apt to set up practices where they train.
It will take about two years to get the program approved and functioning.
