LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Michigan’s annual firearm deer hunting season opens Tuesday. As usual in the days before the hunt, law enforcement officials are busy handling numerous car-deer accidents and they tend to come in bunches. Most are reported in the pre-dawn darkness or right after sunset.
Michigan’s firearm deer season will run through November 30 and it has a huge economic impact on the state.
It’s estimated nearly 750,000 hunters will be in the woods around Michigan and they are expected to spend about $2.3 billion.
