KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Polling places across Kalamazoo County are just about ready to take in a flood of election day voters.
Clerk Tim Snow said voters who bring one of seven forms of photo identification can expect smooth sailing.
“We encourage people to, if your schedule allows, to go mid-afternoon or mid-morning,” Snow said. “Those are, usually, the slightly slower times.”
He said anticipated turnout remains a question mark. Snow said lines generally build at the larger polling places.
“It think it’ll be close to what we saw four years ago, which was slightly down from what we saw in 2008,” Snow said. “Then, I heard other people say it’s going to be a really low turnout.”
If you don’t have a photo ID, you’ll have to sign an affidavit before casting a ballot, Snow said.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
