BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A drive-by shooting in Battle Creek late Saturday has left a local man hospitalized and detectives apparently short on clues and suspects.
The 22-year-old victim told police officers that he was walking alone along Capital Avenue near Meachem Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. when he heard a car pass him and then several gunshots coming from behind him.
One of the bullets struck him in the back. He was rushed to the emergency room at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital in a private vehicle. After emergency surgery, he is listed in stable condition.
They have made no arrests and have no suspect information to pass along.
