UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — It’s the first presidential poll conducted in Michigan since the announcement by FBI Director James Comey that his agency would be reviewing newly-discovered Hillary Clinton emails.
The emails were discovered in the laptop of Clinton aide Huma Abedin by investigators looking into the Anthony Weiner case.
MIRS News reports the new Mitchell Research poll done in Michigan since Friday shows no major movement away from support for the Democratic frontrunner, giving her the same six point margin she had in the previous Mitchell Poll.
It is consistent with the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll showing a 7 point national lead for Clinton holding steady.
An ABC-Washington Post poll released Sunday showed 63 percent of the respondents were unaffected by the latest “October surprise.”
A new Politico-Morning Consult Poll conducted after the Friday “bombshell” also indicates that Clinton is holding with the same 3 percent lead she had before the Comey announcement. And the Real Politics average still gives Clinton a 3 percent edge on Donald Trump with exactly one week to go.
EPIC-MRA Pollster Bernie Porn said that most voters have already made up their minds about the candidates and the email issue. He said, right now, those who are most committed to getting to the polls in Michigan say they are more likely to vote for Clinton.
The other pollsters say they have seen some demographic shifts in their polls since the Comey announcement. For instance, Clinton’s lead with men increased by 2 percent after the friday announcement of the poll in Michigan, and her support among millennials dropped.
