KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A dentist in Portage will be offering big bucks to little kids who want to sell their Halloween candy for a good cause on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Dr. Susan Dennis will pay a dollar for each pound of candy that comes into her office on Moorsbridge Road.
Chrissy Longacre, who is with the dental office, said the sweets are going toward a good cause.
“Dr. Dennis will send all of that candy to Operation Gratitude, and they’ll disburse it to the troops,” Longacre said. “Over the past five years, we have collected over 1,250 pounds of candy.”
Longacre said the overall objective is obvious from the perspective of a dental professional.
“We want to create awareness about cavities being the No. 1 overall childhood illness,” Longacre said.
It runs during regular business hours. Those who sell their candy will also be entered into a drawing for an iPod Touch, Longacre said.
