KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The second suspect in a drug-related shooting at Crosstown Parkway and Portage Road last week has been captured in Indiana and now also faces drug and gun felonies in the Hoosier state.
Jamar Jackson, 26, had been on the run since the drug-deal-turned-mugging behind a convenience store last Wednesday afternoon.
The 27-year-old victim identified by police as the drug dealer was treated and released for non-life threatening wounds. Jackson was arrested by Indiana State Police in Indianapolis, where he has relatives.
Jackson was taken into custody without incident on Friday.
Police say it’s unclear when he might be extradited back to Michigan because they may want to prosecute him in Indiana first.
