PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Police in Portage are looking for the driver of a U-Haul truck that crashed then fled the scene on the south side of the community.
The vehicle left the pavement and slammed into a tree in the 2200 block of Woody Noll Drive just after 6 p.m. Saturday in a waterfront neighborhood just south of Austin Lake. Witnesses say the driver fled into a nearby wooded area.
Portage officers established a perimeter and called in a K9 from Kalamazoo, but could not find the driver who remains at large.
