KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The first workshop on Kalamazoo’s Imagine 2025 effort drew a huge crowd and tonight’s workshop may even be larger now that it appears the city will have millions to spend on the ideas that come out of the session.
The city planning staff has been collecting input at a website, at community meetings and in other ways for months now, and these workshops are turning those ideas into workable proposals for the neighborhoods.
City Manager Jim Ritsema said Monday night that the Foundation for Excellence grant will give them money to pursue the most worthy proposals. He urged people to get involved.
Tonight’s workshop gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church on Lake Street.
