KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation says repair work will close a pair of freeway-spanning bridges in Kalamazoo over the weekend.
MDOT spokesperson Nick Schirripa said Parkview Avenue over U.S. 131 will be closed beginning this Sunday.
“We’re talking about a few weeks here, it’s going to be a pain in the butt,” Schirripa said.
The posted detour around the bridge will route you from South 11th Street to Stadium Drive, then down South Drake Road,” Schirripa said.
Also slated for closure Sunday: Kilgore Road over Interstate 94.
“The posted detour there is Portage Road, I-94 and Sprinkle Road,” Schirripa said.
Both closures will span through Nov. 10.
A week-long total closure of Michigan Avenue between Harrison Street and King Highway starts Monday.
