KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County says it’s going to transfer its dental clinic services to the Family Health Center this December.
The county will close its clinic on the Dec. 2 and the Family Health Center will begin proving dental services to those patients on Dec. 5.
Denise Crawford is the Chief Executive Officer of the center. She said the change will fill a void in the area’s medically underserved population.
“Dental services are available Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and you really don’t find that anywhere else,” Crawford said. “We’ve also had the pleasure of bringing on five additional dentists, so now we have seven,” Crawford said.
The center will still provide mobile services to schools under the agreement.
Patients looking to transfer their records will have to contact the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department at (269) 373-5200.
