FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — The driver of a Schwan’s cold storage truck is recovering from serious injuries after striking a tree the fell across M-216.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Offce says 28-year-old Timothy Sherer of Constantine had to be extracted from the commercial vehicle and airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after the collision, which occurred Monday near Chamberlain Road.
Sherer is said to be in fair condition.
Investigators say they do not believe alcohol was a factor and Sherer was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.
It remains under investigation.
