SCHOOLCRAFT (WKZO-AM) — Schoolcraft police were talking about charging a 14-year-old with a 20-year felony over the weekend for posting what they believed to be a threatening message on Instagram, but now that the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office has taken a closer look at the posting, they won’t press charges.
The posting contained statements about AK47s and transforming from the school loser to a school shooter.
The prosecutor said the posting is actually the lyrics to a song. The post was taken straight from a YouTube lyrics video. A warning, some people may consider the lyrics to the song to be offensive.
The prosecutors office has determined that, since there was no specific threat directed at anyone or anything, there will be no charges. They said it’s not a crime to post song lyrics.
