KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 17-year-old high school senior has been charged with two felonies after he allegedly posted a “creepy clown” threat against Kalamazoo Central and Loy Norrix high schools.
Judge Richard Santoni presided over his arraignment Monday, calling Jalen Williams “a danger to the community.” Santoni set bond at $100,000.
Williams has been ordered to avoid all computers as a condition of his bond, unless it’s for homework. He won’t have to worry about that because he has been suspended from school, pending an expulsion hearing.
Williams is charged with using a computer to commit a crime and attempted false report or threat of terrorism. He could get up to seven years in a state prison. He has a clean record and is said to be extremely remorseful, which may help reduce his sentence.
