PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A 14-year-old who threatened other students using a Twitter account at Pennfield High School has been booked into the Calhoun County Juvenile Home while they sort out the allegations and decide what charges, if any, should be pursued.
Sgt. Steven Watson said the school received a tip about the threats at around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. Not long after the Pennfield Schools resource deputy confronted the student, arrested him and hauled him off for questioning.
Among the threats were comments like this: “If I were to shoot up this school you would be the first one to die.” Other statements he tweeted include: “I want to kill someone” and “its gonna (sic) be like Columbine all over again.”
Sheriff’s deputies said the student didn’t have any weapons at the time he sent the threats, and apparently, the child’s family doesn’t keep guns at his home either.
They say no students were in any actual danger between the time the threats were made and he was taken into custody.
His status with the school district is not known.
