BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Staff with the city of Battle Creek will accept public comment Wednesday night on a proposal that would ban adult businesses from operating on Dickman Road.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the city’s public works building on South Kendall Street.
The call for public comment comes before a city commission meeting in two weeks that is anticipated to include a vote on whether to adopt the prohibition, which would be similar to ones that already exist along Columbia Avenue, Beckley Road and Capital Avenue.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the push for the regulations come amid rumors of an entrepreneur wanting to open a strip club between Kendall and Washington Avenue, where several car dealerships and other businesses currently reside.
