BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies started their day by chasing a suspected drunk driver through Battle Creek.
Just after midnight Monday, they spotted the driver blowing through a stop sign at Dickman Road and Carl Street in Springfield. They tried to pull her over, but she wouldn’t stop, leading them on a chase that did not end until one of the tires fell off the car.
The 27-year-old fled on foot but was quickly captured. She is expected to be charged with drunken driving, eluding police, resisting and obstructing, driving on a suspended license, possessing marijuana and having an improper registration plate.
Two passengers in her car were released at the scene.
She is awaiting arraignment in the Calhoun County Jail.
