KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — For the second time in less than a week, a water main break has prompted local health officials in Kalamazoo to issue a boil water alert for a large section of town.
It’s precautionary because health officials really won’t know if the water was contaminated by the break on East Stockbridge Avenue until the test results are back, and that may take a day or two.
This time, the affected area straddles the border between Kalamazoo and Kalamazoo Township. It spans east of the Interstate 94 business loop, south of Lake Street, north of Clinton Street and west of Schuster Avenue.
Health officials say any water you plan to ingest should be bottled or boiled until they get test results back.
