ORIGINAL STORY:
STURGIS (WKZO-AM) — A Sturgis resident is dead and another is being held for his murder after an argument turned into a fight and ended with a fatal stabbing.
No other information has been released on what motivated the dispute or the names of the two people involved. It happened at a home in the 200 block of Jacob Street early Sunday, investigators said.
The stabbing victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect was transported to Sturgis Hospital for treatment of injuries, then arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.
The St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force was mobilized to do the forensic follow-up at the crime scene and interviews.
New charges may be added or the current charge modified after the prosecutor has had a chance to review the task force’s findings and preliminary autopsy results.
