EATON COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — Eaton County Sheriff’s deputies got a call from motorists along eastbound I-96 that they spotted a white male carrying what appeared to be a body wrapped in a blanket into the woods near the entrance to eastbound I-496.
They immediately shut down the highway and did a thorough search.
They didn’t find any bodies, but they did find 26 well-tended marijuana plants on MDOT property and the man who they suspect may have been their caretaker.
He was taken into custody on non-related charges, pending tests on the plants.
