BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police say they’re noticing an increase in complaints about “movie money” being passed in the Battle Creek area.
The Battle Creek Police Department says the reports, according to a press release, have come “over the last several weeks,” and say a large amount of the counterfeit cash could be in circulation.
Investigators say they’re seeing fake $100s, $20s and $1s.
The department is urging people who may have been given the cash as a business to notify clerks immediately and to contact police if it’s necessary. The non-emergency number for the Battle Creek Police Department is (269) 966-3322.
