KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A Kalamazoo man who was rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital on Sept. 7 after being found on a West Michigan Avenue bench near the Kalamazoo College campus with life-threatening and suspicious head and face injuries has died.
Kalamazoo Public Safety has identified the victim as George Ralph Carlisle, 58.
Investigators believe blunt force trauma contributed to his death. An autopsy will be completed within the next six to eight weeks.
Vic Ledbetter, a detective with the police agency, said investigators suspect the victim was attacked, possibly by somebody he knew. A suspect is in custody on unrelated charges.
