KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Bronson Park will be the site of a Hispanic heritage fiesta on Saturday.
Danny Salas with Despierta Kalamazoo said the idea for the event was cooked up between friends about a year ago.
“When we were growing up, there was always a Hispanic fiesta in Kalamazoo,” Salas said.
It gets underway at noon.
“We’re going to have musicians, vendors, food vendors, performances from youth and school and cultural dances,” Salas said.
Salas also said the event will feature several eating contests.
A parade of flags and remarks from Mayor Bobby Hopewell will kick off the event. It will wrap up at 9 p.m.
Admission is free. More information can be found here.
